need to remove sealent/mastic from brickwork

Thought I would ask this question as we have such knowledgeable people on this site. Recently moved to a property that has had a conservatory taken down and a larger one installed. The problem is there is a lot of the old brown mastic/sealent stuck fast to the brickwork about six foot by 1inch down the wall in places and also clear sealent all along where the roof line would have been. Would appreciate any help with products to remove this. We are a bit worried about damaging the brickwork. Thank you all for reading this.

Comments

  • Just scrape it off with a sharp scraper. You can buy silicone eater but don't know if it would affect your brickwork.
