We use Lidls own and it's good. I enjoy it. It's 99p or so for a decent sized jar.Proud to be dealing with my debts :T

Brilliant suggestions, thankyou :T
As I don't drink it myself ( not keen on chocolate, my friends think I'm freaky lol ) the advice I've recieved is really helpful. Hot choc all looks like much of a muchness to me
Seems like some brands are similar in taste, so maybe I can save some money fairly painlessly

I have just bought some cheap chocolate milk together with the more expensive brand and i aim to mix them half and half, but in the expensive container. My ds puts load of chocolate in his cup and half of it stays at the bottom, but he does not like the cheaper one. He is away at the mo so i am going to put my plan into action. I doubt he will notice the differernce especially as it is in the expensive container. I am thinking of doing the same thing with shampoo ( not sure that will work).0

I have to agree with Penelope Penguin - the best hot chocolate I have tasted is just (value/basics/savers...) milk chocolate melted into hot milk
I don't think it'd be much cheaper (if at all) than buying a jar, but it's really lovely - maybe as an extra special treat?0 -
I tend to have Asda smartprice, which I like because it's quite sweet. I also lik Lidl hot choc. Can't remember what it's called but it has a purple label.0

I really like nettos one it is really tasty the only one that is better is the aero one but thats because of the texture
why not try putting a marshmallow on top of the cheaper brands this makes even the weakest hot choc taste betterLBM apr 2008,£94,761  Mad Ebay challenge #71 £2000/£106.62DFD [STRIKE]DECEMBER 2024[/STRIKE] OCTOBER 20130 -
I'm suspecting the spanish version is a bit like the italian "cioccolata calda", a bit of a thick concoction. In that case he'll certainly notice a watery other kind.
You can make it yourself though:
150g cheap dark choccy or 3 tablespoons cocoa, 1 1/2 cups milk, 1 tbsp sugar, 1/2 tsp vanilla - heat all that up, whisk until smooth, then take 2 teaspoons of cornflour and mix that with a tablespoon of water in a separate container. Add a little at a time, and stir for about 30 second with each small addition.... it'll thicken. When it reaches the consistency you want, stop adding cornflour.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
We drink LOTS of hot chocolate (both my grandmothers have ostoperosis so I kid myself t's good for me) We use 1 mug of full fat milk per person, 1 tsp of own brand cocoa powder (the unsweetened one for baking) and 1/2 tsp of honey or 1/2 tsp of brown sugar if we're run out. OH adds a splash of single cream but that's too much even for me! I think this works out much cheaper than buy hot chocolate because you use so much less powder.Debt at LBM (20th March 2008) £13,607

I'm sure that the cornflour trick is the way to go for the texture. I love the local icecream parlour's Dutch chocolate. I don't buy it, I just like it! Oh, the sacrifices of a moneysaving rural gal - lol!If you see me on here - shout at me to get off and go and get something useful done!!
