Hi Morphette, welcome Sweetie & lots of Hugs.

I can only imagine how difficult it was for you to write your post last night. I bet there were a few tears but in a strange way I hope that you felt better for getting it `down in writing`. There is a certain thereputic value in doing this & I hope that you now feel that you are not alone!

So Girl...when you are ready get that cuppa , sit down with the phone..take a deep breath & get calling the debt charities CCCS,Nat Debtline, CAB. Call them all if necessary!!

You have not mentioned the value of property in relation to the outstanding mortgage..if there is equity your OH will be offered to buy out your beneficial interest to protect the ownership of the property...if its negative equity then likely you will be allowed to buy this for a £1 + £200 ish fee.

    Hope you managed some sleep.

Let us know how you get on.

One thing to add, with the kitchen loan the responsibility will fall to your OH and it will be transferred to his name solely, but there are ways around you still being able to pay your OH your share with a little jiggling on your I&E.

I don't really have any advise apart from what's already been said, but wanted to say hello and well done for being brave to post! It's such a daunting thing, BR, and to actually open up and put it all out for everyone to see is just as frigtening I think! It takes a lot of guts to decide to confront your debts, well done for starting on that road.

I hope you will feel a little better, knowing there is SO much support here for you.

Keep us updated on how you are doing.

Can add much more than has been said apart from saying "Welcome" and be honest with the CCCS and if BC is the way forward be honest with the OR too!!!

Car wise - how much is it worth? IF the OR lets you have a vehicle if the AUDI is worth a few thousand they may sell it and give you money to buy a cheaper one. I think the fact its automatic would be irrelevant as you can buy cheap automatics too.

Fire away with the questions, everyone on here is helpful and dont judge, although I think you should talk to your other half about the problems. Shouting and arguing is not the way forward it will just drive a wedge between you.
"Well, that sounds like a pretty good deal. But I think I got a better one. How about I give you the finger, and you give me my phone call"

    Hello morphete,

I can't really advise because OH is declaring BR next month, we have a joint mortgage too and are scared of loosing the house, so I can fully sympathise with your feelings.

I've posted lots on this board, I was desperate and in total dispair, I couldn't even think straight, sometimes It felt as if I had to remember to breathe, it sounds daft, but It's not knowing what to do for the best or which way to turn, and the total fear of the unknown.

I'm still not 100%, but at least the decision has been made, the appointment with the court is booked and the money is ready. The forms are 70% completed, so we are nearly there. Whatever happens afterwards I can't say because I don't know, but living under a black cloud of debt causes so much stress, arguments and tension in the house.

I've had some brilliant support on this forum, even Martin contributed to my thread of hopelessness and sent me a PM.Everyone here is here for you too.

    Take care xx
