Dad Passed Away

Hi there, my dad passed away in january 2007. a heart attack :( he lived in newcastle. and his family us live down in sheffield. everything went okay his funeral everything it was a very hard time as we didnt see our dad often.

anyways, i think he had pensions and money saved away, but no one knows where we sorted his bank out there was £170 in there. but put that towards the funeral.

how would we know where his pensions are?

the place he had a pension at shut down a long time ago it was a mining place in durham. any help please. because it needs to be sorted out.

    try www.thepensionservice.gov.uk - it is a tracing service - you might need to give your dads NI number but suggest you speak to them - good luck

    I searched and found a form to fill in.

    Okay this is all good but i dont know nothing about his old job, all i know is the place is written on my birth certificate.

    I dont know what to put or anything.

    Potential beneficiary's current details. Whos details does that mean my dads or myn

    Has your Dad never remarried (were your parents married)? Did he not leave a will?

    no he didnt leave a will. only had a next of kin...

    and he didnt remarry, he and my mum divorced.

    When you looked at his bank account did you check what was being paid in? His pension money would be paid into his bank and that should tell you where it was coming from.If the account you found was just a savings account, you may need to look harder for a current account. Ask at the same bank for a start.

    How old was your Dad?Had he reached pension age?
