Typical high-end brands are Sennheiser, Bose and Shure. I have never had any problems with my Creative headphones.Super geek.0

Well they don't think much of them here.
Looks like you want style over substance, but if you were to decide that sound quality was more important, you could do worse than to try a pair of Koss Sportapros. Cheaper than the Skull Candy ones, look awful, but have a surprisingly good tone and are very portable for your journey.
By the way, how much can you budget for these headphones as that might have a bearing on the suggestions you receive?
P.S. if you do go for the Skull Candy ones, I should take the imitation bullets out of the headband before you get to the airport!"The trouble with quotations on the Internet is that you never know whether they are genuine" - Charles Dickens0 -
Yeah, we really need to know the budget. I have a pair of Shure SE530 which will set you back over £200; most people would think it was nuts spending so much on earphones, so if you're one of those people, then they're outside your price range. Shure have a pair in the same range called SE110 which I think can be had for around £50.
I was in HMV with a friend awhile ago, and he purchased a pair of Sennheiser earphones for £35, and he seems to really like them. It just depends on your budget. "Really good" means something different to everyone and my idea of really good might be your idea of an excessive waste of money.
But Shure and Sennheiser are both great brands and I doubt you could go wrong with either, regardless of how much you want to spend.0 -
From what I've read about skullcandies, the bass is way too strong. They look nice though.
I second the sennheiser recommendation. Cheapish and good. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0 -
thanks guys much appreciated for you replies0
