Vanquis Credit Card

Hi, I've just applied and been rejected for a Vanquis Credit Card. I have no particularly bad credit history, just one amber that was settled 18 months ago. Other than that my credit history is blank. I work full time and I'm a joint home owner. When I've checked my credit history I'm listed as having 2 aliases and 2 associations all of which are just in my name. Could this be affecting my ability to get credit even with these so called credit cards for people with a poor credit history? What is going on?

I might be being thick (nothing new there) but if you have a pretty good credit history, couldn't your bank give you a credit card?

Hi
having an alias can be just a maiden name and a lot of people have associations. Having a joint bank account etc. My hubby got a Vanquis card and he has one default which is yonks old!
We use Experian's credit expert and I know Vanquis didn't do any ''associate'' check on me.
Are you on the electoral roll?
Have you tried Aqua?
