Thought cap 1 cashback card was 4 or 5%, as for who is better well both in my eyes are good, cap 1 probably has the edge for performance in the market place.0

Yes, sorry i did not mention the offer as i was looking for a long term one, Offers end quickly, so the 1% was what i was looking at.

What did you mean by this? please.
Thank you0 -
I've never had any problems with Egg Money - good service and you know what you're getting. I've heard quite a lot of stories on here of people applying for a Cap 1 cashback card but being approved for and receiving a different card altogether.0

Although Capital One seems to have tougher acceptance criteria, they are currently partnering with Equifax and so offer its credit card holders 2 free Equifax credit reports per year.
They can be very useful - although I do take onboard that you can obtain them anyway for a relatively small amount.
Couple this with the initial 4% offer, albeit only for a limited time, and I think you find yourself with a decent cashback card.
Although Capital One sometimes get bad reviews, I don't believe they are inherently worse than any other.
Before you go down the cashback route, I would advise you take a quick look at the art of stoozing to determine whether it is something you would like to consider. If it is, it will affect the type of credit card you would select. See:

I have both Cap 1 and Egg Money - both are good.
I've only ever had a problem in the real world with Egg Money and then only at B&Q - for some reason they could never do a refund onto the card, so ended up having to give me the money back as cash - so actually it's a bonus rather than a drawback.
One very big plus for Egg Money is that they phone me up within hours of suspicious looking transactions. Only last week my wife had placed an order at an online supermarket, and I'd ordered several items of bathroom stuff from different sites - all within the space of a couple of hours. Egg phoned the same day to confirm that the transactions were genuine, which I find reasssuring.
Egg have also been helpful in the past if I've had a transaction go wrong - refunded the money immediately without any problems.0 -
Egg also have some additional instant cash back offers from certain retailers - that's instant cashback as well as the 1%.0
