in Cutting tax
I'd be very greatful for some advise...
Basically my tax code has now been changed to K301, so i called my local tax office to enquire about it and apparently i owe then around £1600 - which they intened to claim back from me, they say it is down to me having a second job ( which i don't now a year later) and that the company who employed me didn't put me on the right code - which means i had two personal allowances.
my gross salary is £1083 per month and they have deducted £541 which half my salary, i cannot afford this. Is there anything i can do, or make any arrangements to pay it back over a longer period.
thanks for you help

You can try writing to HMRC setting out your monthly income and outgoings, showing what you have left to live on and asking them to code it over 2 years, but they do work to very strict guidelines on collection nowadays.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0
