Just wonder if anyone can advise on this. We recently moved into a new house, 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and its VERY well insulated, doubled glazed etc etc. We were with Npower at our previous house for both gas and electric, and the gas at this house was with British Gas, so we moved over to Npower (awful decision, but thats another long story!!) and we had our gas bill for exactly 1 month yesterday and it was.............£1.46!!:T we used a grand total of 12 units! Very very impressed. We dont use hot water, as the showers are electric and we boil the kettle for a bowl of water to wash up. Open fire in lounge so we havent used the heating at all. We know that we will have to put the heating on for a couple of hours a day in the winter to take the chill off first thing in the morning before we light the fire,. electric wise, Npower cant give us any idea of how much we've used yet so im going to budget for about £60 a month to be on the safe side.so my question is, as we have limited electricity data and very low gas consumption, who would you recommend we look at to supply our energy? PRICE is a big concern, but by the same token I really would like a simple, good customer service (i know, i dont want much do i!)
CC limits £26000
Long term CC debt £0
Total low rate loan debt £3000
Almost debt free feeling, priceless.
Ex money nightmare, learnt from my mistakes and never going back there again, in control of my finances for the first time in my adult life and it feels amazing.

Ebico for gas, as they do not charge a standing charge0

What Nicholas said!
All gas units charged at 2.86p each - no 2 tier rates.

Be careful though - you may not use much gas this time of year but you probably will in winter. Ebico may not be the best price for a whole year which is what you should compare prices on (unless you plan to keep switching) - but they might be
Ebico do electric too (on a similar simple 1 price for all basis) but may not be cheapest for your situation - always worth a look though.
Customer service for ebico is provided by Scottish & Southern - renowned as one of the better CS offerings across the entire utilty market."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -

I second EBICO0

I'm sure EDF don't do a standing charge either.0

Def Ebico (EquiGas). No standing charge - just pay for what you use. Same rate regardless of payment method. Ideal for low users.0

Are they competitive on electricity too?0

I am on s wales electric too and the tariff for this area is one of the dearest with any board. Yes ebico is competitive for electricity but you need to do your sums re the amount you use first. I use ebico for gas and electric0
