A little advice needed............ is this a con ??

Options
My mother is thinking of applying to this company, http://www.easymoney4u2.co.uk

I have advised her that i think its a con and it looks decided dodgy, I just wondered if anyone had ever heard of them or has any comments on this.

It looks far to good to be true IMO, but you know what mothers are like and she has asked me if I could post on here to see what you all think.

She's wanting to give up her P/T job and do something from home so if any of you have any ideas im sure she would be most grateful.

If it sounds too good to be true then it usually is. I would steer well clear of it because ultimately your mother will lose £100 (the yearly membership fee) and get no come back from it.

The one good thing about the internet is most people who try to rip you off use the same template for their web sites.

I'd like to think it's because they are fair and are giving us a chance to spot them, but that's not true. They have simply bought the site from someone else and are using it, well they fell for the scam so why shouldn't others?

OK, this site has done a little work to try and make the site look different, but you can still tell it's a scam site.

Keep well away from this site or you will rapidly become poorer.
  • That is indeed a big fat scam. Suggest to your mum that she should have a look around on this forum for other tips on the work she can do from home - mystery shopping, Texperts or AQA, etc. If she's only looking for a part-time wage, she should be able to find something.

My advice would be that if you are in any doubt, don't bother.

Personally, I would never pay any of these kind of sites. Why would they ask for money when they are going to pay you? They could easily take a slice of your earnings instead.

I have just signed up to Lightspeed after reading a couple of things on this forum. So far, I haven't completed any surveys yet. I don't expect to make a huge amount from it. Just a few pounds here and there. Lightspeed probably isn't going to be good enough to give up a part-time job.

There are 'work-from-home' sites out there but the good ones are few and far between. I suggest you and/or your mother do a bit of research before signing up to any site.

    Good luck!
  • has anyone ever found a semi-decent site that allows you to make any kind of money from home without having to fork out a large amount of money up front ? - apart from ebay that is !
  • Someone should report the site to legal teams at Sainsbury's, Tesco etc etc as I dont think they can use their names without permission.

defo a con, as GJoe says, the template is a giveaway. I would suggest the same as the others, mystery shopping, texperts or slice the pie. There are ways of earning which aren't a con. It really makes me cross when people try to rob others:mad:
Gala bingo wins £70!!! mystery shopping earnings: £0
MutualPoints 2898 STP £20.50 Tesco clubcard points £950 for summer 09!

I agree it looks like a scam, though disagree that you can tell a scam just by the web template they use. It does talk about a money back guarantee so if your really interested give your name and email address and get more details on the guarantee. If the guarantee is watertight you might not have much to lose. Do however bear in mind that on most occasions if it sounds to good to be true it is. There are of course exceptions so if your the eternal optimist maybe this is one :)
