I've got what looks like some sort od fungus growing on my lawn. Does anyone know if there is anything that can be bought to treat the grass and kill the fungus but at the same time leaving the grass in good condition?
Thanks,
Pete.

Get someone who knows to identify them - you might be able to eat them. Funghi can be difficult to get rid of. The bit you seen is the fruiting body - there is masses of mycelium under the ground. Knocking off the pieces you see often causes new growth to appear. Why not enjoy them? They are only aound for a while and more interesting than grass!0

if its just the odd mushroom they are not uncommon in warm damp lawns nor usually a problem0 -
When we had some fungi growing out of our lawn, we just stamped on them to flatten them and eventually they went away.
Hope this helps. There's no woman sicker than the woman who is sick on her day off !0 -

Although fungi appearing in a lawn is quite natural it might indicate that you need to aerate your lawn. The easiest way to do this is to buy some spiked plastic soles which attach to your shoes, and then walk over the lawn for a couple of hours. If you also have moss growing on the lawn then it will help get rid of that too.0

Can anyone recommend a good source of info on lawn care, I might even buy a book if I have to! (secondhand of course)
I had a lovely lawn when I moved in to my house 18 months ago but it's not looking too great these days and I guess I need to think about how best to look after it. I've had Greenthumb doing the three month services but it's looking patchy, mossy and mushroomy/toadstooly.0
