After making a mess of downloading Kaspersky I need to remove all ref to it and they give instructions how to do this. The instructions tell me how to get to the Temp folder and then to remove all its contents. There are hundreds of items in this folder. Is it really safe to remove them all which is what they say to do?

If your not sure, let the system do it for you?
I'll take a punt and say your on XP
START>PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES>SYSTEM TOOLS>DISK CLEAN UP
Let it do it's stuff, and it will come back saying what can be deleted.
Clear out your prefetch as well.
START>RUN ENTER "PREFETCH"
and delete everything.
This contains a "prefetch" of regularly opened applications and also probably lots of applications you don't use now so they are partially loaded into memory at startup so they load quicker when you select them.
clearing this out means the next few times you log on, it rebuilds the most common applications.

Don't know who is right now so I will go with startrekker.
I have come to this forum from Firefox using a different log in so I hope I am not making another mess. My computer was great last weekend,
loading pages quickly etc but it has gone off again and when I tried System Restore it said it was not necessary as nothing had changed from the last time.0
