Greenflag are just as bad. I saved over £20 for being new customer plus cashback from Quidco £40 in all. I also had no claims which I lost because I was new customer, its a complete con no claims with Greenflag0

To be honest I want to stick with them as I had bad experiences with Green Flag and have only had good ones with the AA. And as a bonus one of my friends is an AA guy and its rather handy when I have problems in the local area (ring his mobile and he puts it through the books as a job).
I may go for the same thing as I do with my phone, tell them im leaving and see what happens!Green and White Barmy Army!0 -
Theres a change in the way many business's seem to operate now. The trend seems to be keep customers for a shorter period of time but try to get a lot of them with various offers etc.
I think this might also be to do with the fact many people in companies don't see their role with that company as a long term thing anymore, so how that company does in the long term does not matter to them. This seems to be the same even right up to CEO level, as long as the figures look good whilst they're running things!0 -

Often when you do this you can find that after going through Quidco the quote you get it much higher than the one you got through a comparison site.0 -
So I looked on the site, and shes right. New customers get a £26 discount. Why do companies do this? Surely they should reward their existing customers?
The aim is for them to make maximum profit, so they need to strike a balance between losing customers and attracting new business. A lot of customers are not 'price sensitive' so there is no point in giving them a discount to try to retain a customer like you, who is. Much more sensible to offer you a deal (or not object to you signing up again as a new customer) when you threaten to leave due to price.its breakdown cover not Insurance.0 -
We have AA cover and EVERY year when we get the renewal notice in, I always check their site and then phone to ask them to match the new policy price. They always do without fail. I suspect they feel it's either that or they risk their customer becoming a new RAC customer so it's worth it to them.
We have joint cover with roadside/relay/homestart and it's usually around £30 in difference between our renewal price and the new customer price btw.Herman - MP for all!0
