Hi, and welcome.
Firstly I'm not sure if you are looking for a separate washer and dryer or a combined, but I would seriously reconsider the latter. Combined machines are pants and don't work nearly as well as separates. For more advise on this check this website: http://ukwhitegoods.co.uk/
For the price take a look at www.pricerunner.co.uk, this is what I used to buy my washer and fridge freezer. I saved £300 in comparison to using Curry's.
Once you have found a price and product you are happy to buy, check out http://www.hotukdeals.com/ for additional current discount vouchers for your chsen retailer. Using a website like www.quidco.com, may also get you some cashback.
I recall using a website about a year ago which searched for discount codes for white goods retailers, it was quite comprehensive, but I can't remember the site name. Someone else on hear may be able to help.

I agree -Don't buy a combined washer/dryer they take to long to do a load of washing. I had one and got rid of it as soon as I could.
I now use a washing machine, line dry or use an airer and only use the tumble dryer in an emergency ( daughter needs clothes to go out in and has oh so conveniently forgotten to put into the laundry basket)
The electricity bills in this country are horrendous! So go for an A rated machine if you can - this uses the least powerBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

It depends what you need and how much space you have. If you've only got one "slot" look for the most efficient combination machine you can.
I got a Candy (cmd 146?? I think) washer/dryer from Argos and the catalogue has a table in showing water / electricity usage per cycle etc.
It washes fine, has different programmes for economy, temperature, etc. I'm sure the drying will be slower than a seperate dryer, but I only use it e.g. in winter (I have no outside drying space).
I actually find that more economical - it's better to wash and tumble dry one light and one dark load say every fortnight, than keep doing lots of half loads to allow for air drying of 2-3 days."She who asks is a fool once. She who never asks is a fool forever"
I'm a fool quite often
