TOM TOM reduced map prices

TOM TOM have emailed me to say their maps are reduced in price, the latest UK and ireland map is now £29.95 was £39.95. I am tempted at that price unless someone knows better?

I here it's another TomTom con. The reason I say that is that there are new maps out from 1st August so your new maps will be very soon out of date and there is no map guarantee with them.

Having just updated my firmware on my TTG720 to ver 8.010 it shows in the options some of the new x30 range of features as in "Show Lane Images" however when you try and activate it, it says not compatible with your maps version. So I spoke with TT Support to see if I purchased the new maps the feature would be available, but it won't not even with the August Maps and you need an x30 Range for the feature.
