Reminds me of the advert, I think it's for Egg (If you don't look after your money, who will, or something along those lines) where the blokes are flogging the dodgy electrical items
  • I saw this type of auction on Watchdog a while back and they basically said STAY AWAY!!!! They use bully tactics to get you away once you have parted with your cash and frighten people so that they don't complain. Like previous posters have said they plant people in the crowd to 'buy' the bargains and then they move on really quickly in order to confuse the crowd into buying things that aren't what they seem.
  • Yeah, its exactly like the Egg advert.

    Stay WELL CLEAR!
  • there was a kind of watered down version of this round here a couple of years back...
a quite respectable local hotel hosts events in one of its buildings regularly, so when i saw a clearance sale i thought 'well why not?'
usual stuff on the advert (which i think was in the local paper?) and it said things like playstations for £40, portable tv's £20 etc.
i went along and the guy went on and on... he could have talked anyone into submission, someone got a portable tv for £15 in front of me, i got a crystal rose ornament and a socket set for a tenner (dont know if it was worth it), but i priced up the playstation package in my head and it was expensive- so i guessed the others were too.

there was an address for a warehouse somewhere not too far away but i don't know if it was genuine
things arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back then ;)
BH is my best mate too, its ok :)

I trust BH even if he's from Manchester.. ;)
