Need a cheap good printer :) <--- student

Hey there.
I am a 2 week new student and have already spent wayyyy to much money on junk like monitors :P
Anyway, more seriously, I need a printer :x but don't have lots of money to splash away on
In other words, does anyone know where i can get a cheap to maintain and use, decent fast printing printer. Essentially black and white but with the possibility of colour just in case of the odd presentation....
Inkjet's I realise will be the best, but there are lots of budget HP/Canon's/Epson's and Lexmarks around, and I want to know what will give me the longest lasting ink and fastest speed.
Max budget £60 for printer & cable & cartridge (included in some packages)
Thanks for any help :x

Running costs are important
Every so often Dell sells printers for £10 (re badged Lexmark) but they don't take standard cartridges without some DIY
Remember that some (like HP) cartridges include a printhead so are always dearer than those (eg Epson) that don't. Later Epsom printers contain a chip to make it more difficult to refill
So if you see a cheap printer - check on cartridge pricesTANSTAAFL !0 -
Get Epson or pay £50 for a set of Lexmark inks

I got my Epson C44UX on eBay - second hand never had a problem had it 6 months now. Cost me £20 incl P&P. I get cartridges from https://www.rubberfrog.co.uk - Epson "compatible" cartridges appear to be cheaper than Lexmark or HP.
It prints 11ppm B&W - quite fast enough for me. Only use it for printing essays etc, however had to reprint 110 page course handbook today because I lost my original from last year, though not overly bothered because it costs me next to nothing to run.
Hope this helps
Rich
PS with the Epson compatible cartridges, I found if you only install the drivers necessary to run the printer and not the "extras" e.g. ink monitor it doesn't bother. I've changed cartridges twice with no probs.#145 Save £12k in 2016 Challenge: £12,062.62/£12,000.00 Beginning Balance: £5,027.78 CHALLENGE MET

I'm a student to and I just brought the HP 5740 photo printer brand new with cartridges and free delivery for £34.98. I got it from https://www.amazon.co.uk
The only downside is have to be ordered so your look at two weeks waiting but everywhere else the same printer is £60-70.0 -
Thanks for all your help.
I ended up buying the HP 5740. I'm in no urgency to receive it.
However it doesn't say it comes with a USB cable
Anyone know wheres cheapest to get a printer usb cable from?
