in Credit cards
Hello,
I am currently looking for a new credit card for my mother, who is in debt and paying high interest rate's on her current cards.
Does anyone know what card's gives you the biggest limit? I have just applied for MBNA and they gave her a 5000 limit. I have a barclay card for her in my name but the credit limit is only 1250.
So idealy i am looking for a credit card with 0% for about one year and a credit limit at 5000 or above. I understand credit limits may be based on your personal credit score, but have been told that some cards lend more than others.
Many Thanks
Chris

She currently has a nationwide card with about 6000 on; its APR is about 19%! Also she has a HSBC which she owes 3000 on also high APR. And I have a MBNA for her in my name, but will be transferring the credit on to her new MBNA card.
She use to have about seven cards, now she only has four, two of which are 0% now I need the other two to be 0% as she is paying about 30 pounds per month interest.
Thanks

It's not an exact science of course but, judging from the posts on here, you're more likely to get a generous credit limit with MBNA than some lenders I could name.
That said, none of us knows in advance what credit limt we'll be handed. Much depends on your existing credit - available and used - in relation to your annual income, as I think you realise.
Have you considered Halifax? 15 months 0% on BTs is currently available to new customers from the Hally. There's a 3% handling charge
