manchester opera house

Does anyone know if you can buy tickets direct from the opera house without going through Ticketmaster and so avoiding the £2.50 fee. This is for my son and 4 friends who are students to see Ross Noble. An extra £12.50 + postage is rather excessive. The only phone number I can find links directly to Ticketmaster. We can go into town and pick them up if there is a box office at the theatre but I would like to ring first.

    Here's their phone number: 0161 828 1700

you should be able to buy the tickets there, even better, as you can choose the seats.

I guessing that you can buy the tickets, as I did the same for the Palace Theatre, a few years back.

I used ticketmaster yesterday for the palace @ manchester and there was only a £2.50 charge per order and not per ticket like it used to be.
So I ordered online as you cant park in manchester for less than that.
In the past though it as been cheaper to go down and buy them in person.

Whilst on this subject I just tried booking online for the printworks cinema and they wanted £1.75 for the privalige yet you can use there auto machine in the foyer @ no extra cost.

    Whats that all about.
