How much should I expect to pay for a building project?

This may be difficult to answer but I just want a ballpark figure. I will try to give as much detail as possible to make it easier
I live in an Edwardian terraced house. Our kitchen is at the back of the house at the end of the hall. There is a side window and then on the end of the kitchen is a wall which leads onto a utility room with a side door leading into the garden. Tacked onto the utility room are two sheds and what used to be an outdoor toilet. The utility and shed section are one storey and the kitchen is two storey with the bathroom above it.
What we would like to do is to join up the one storey utility/shed section with the kitchen to make one big room. We would need to knock down the wall between the kitchen and utility room, put in an rsj so the house doesn't fall down  , knock down the wall between the utility room and the toilet/sheds. The utility room/sheds are only one layer of bricks we have been told, so would need another wall built. We woud have cheapo french doors from the current kitchen onto the side (where we currently have a window), then we would make the new section (the one story bit) a u shaped kitchen with a window overlooking the garden.
We are going to get a couple of quotes, but I wondered whether anyone could give me a rough idea of how much this would be likely to cost
Thanks in advance anyone who could help:beer:
