Not sure if this is the right place to post this, if it isn't can someone move it to the correct place.
Anyway here goes, on the 14th June 2008 I purchased a 2002 Alfa Romeo Lusso Selespeed on finance. The following weekend (just gone) it started to develop faults, which where reported on the computer:
Faulty Left Side Light
Faulty Right Side Light
Faulty Numberplate Light
VDC Failure
ABS Failure
Also, whilst in a very busy carpark, it got stuck in Reverse (it has tiptronic gears). Requiring me to restart the car twice before I could select a new gear.
What I want to know is, what is my legal standing with this purchase?
As the purchase is under 14 days ago, can an I exchange it for a replacement car or do I have to except just getting it repaired?
It seem like I bought a lemon here:mad: , please can someone advise me on what to do?
Thanks
It depends where you bought it from and what type of warranty you have, although most reputable dealers would endeavor to keep a happy customer and if you have lost complete faith in the car then they should exchange it. If you feel like you are being fibbed off don’t mess about, go straight to the top find out who is in charge and demand action, again any car dealer with a reputation will not want the hassle of a p---- off customer after just 14 days, but always remain calm but firm and always use the sale of goods act, and the introduction of your solicitor if you feel that you will not get satisfaction, if all this fails try trading standards as most dealers hate the thought of being investigated, but one last thing any Italian made car looks sexy and is great to drive when it works but they are very temperamental and the faults you have described do not surprise me so you may want to allow them to try and rectify the problems if you really love the Alpha.

Yes, I am giving them the chance to fix it. They've had it almost 2 weeks now and decide they can't fix it and so passed it on to the nearest Alfa Services/Dealership.Did you watch top gear last night....Alfas :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Yes I did, I think the outcome Jezza gave was that "at some point every true petrolhead should own one"......... so when did you own one photome?
Personally the best car I ever owned was a 300zx (z32) twin turbo, which got stolen by some twoccer!0 -

I have never owned one not even to take round the track when i used to race "bangers", they wouldnt last the race. Never been in a financial position to be able to justify a true petrolhead car, if I was it would be the toyota supra.0
