Banyard Books

I've been asked to look at some books and post my opinions on here. The books we looked at were:

http://www.storyboxbooks.com/
http://www.discoveryboxbooks.com/
http://www.adventureboxbooks.com/

I thought the books were very good. I liked the way they were a mixture of fact and fiction writing, which will keep children interested and the factual bits can be kept for reference to help with school work. I struggle to get my youngest son to read as he doesn’t like reading, but he enjoyed picking out the bits that interested him most in these books, then reading the rest.

Adventure box- I quite enjoyed the stories and it was a fun to read them. As aged 11 the words easy but for 4 years to 8years it would be good to read for them. It has nice colourful pictures that are nice to look at.

Story Box- I thought these books were to easy to read for 11 years but for someone learning to read the stories are quite good. Also the pictures are big so if the parent is reading the book to the child they will be able to understand by looking at the picture and talking about the picture like my Mam used to do with me.

Discovery Box- These books are for older children from about 8+. They are full of factual data and it was fun to learn new things about trains, what a laser is and all about energy saving ways to stop global warming. I quite enjoyed those books and would like to read some more.

Overall the books are quite good and I enjoyed almost all of them.
Here I go again on my own....
