A quick question - Balance Transfers

Hi there,
Just wondering if I was to sign up for a 0% balance transfer c/card - I've got Virgin in mind, can you transfer some1 elses balance to that card? It would be my OH's balance - due to his credit rating he cannot have one but I can. So can you do that or does the debt that you are transfering have to be in the same name as the name on the new 0% balance card?
Thanks everyone:o

All they need is a valid card number.
Don't forget to get the minimum payments done by direct debit.
I assume you have a long lasting relationship and he wont do a runner on the debt. It happens.
Yeah we are in a long relationship, and yes I know that anything can happen but I do beleive that we are strong enough. At the minute I already have a bank account (in my name) set up which his money gets paid into weekly (it comes straight out of his wages before he even sees it) which is used for savings / rent so the direct debit can come out of that so that shouldnt be an issue. And he cannot stop the payments from work going into my bank account without me knowing as we both work for my dad

Hi there,
I've transfered 1500pounds balance from my Vanquis credit card(huge interests)to my new HSBC credit card on a 2.9% over 2years. I wonder if this was a good deal as it's was my only option and I am very poor right now having to spend from my overdrafts?
The HSBC credit also offers 1year free interest in purchases but I spent almost it all with the balance transfer.
Also HSBC rang me last week saying that I had to pay off the overdraft in my account with them or at least 5% of ot as I have never put money into the account. This is a new account I opened about two months ago. I believe they put my name in their recovery credit agency. The man who rang me was even rude so insistent and wouldn't let me go so I had to rang up as I was busy. I did agreed to pay the 5% off that day into the account which I did. Can they do anything to my overdraft agreement? Can they pull off the deal they offered me? I am worried about it as won't be able to pay it off right now.
My credit score is ok but am so tied up for the next 1 or 2 months at least so I am scared to even go bankrupt.
Any help appreciate. I actually thought to apply for another credit card but am scared to be turned down. What do i do?
Thanks a lot ,

Yes, you can transfer someone else's debt. But you'd be liable for that debt. God help you if your OH turns out to be a scallywag! :eek:0 -
