Hi, Well done. Scart should be fine at the moment. Just check the tv switches over to scart inputs automatically. The scarts are multi wired and you must be using the RGB for picture.
HDMI is available for newer dvd units and playstations, etc. just buy the cheaper cables for under a tenner.

Wall brackets are not the same, mine came with the set from Sanus, I think (see web), a very good well finished design and worth the £250. Make sure the wall can take the weight and not a plaster board lined one.

There are plenty of over makes but really some were very weak/poor materials. You do not want it falling off the wall.

If your dvd player has an hdmi output then definitely use that. You'll see a marked improvement over the scart picture. Given that hdmi dvd players aren't at all expensive these days, I'd look at getting one if you haven't got one already. And, as mentioned above, there's no need to spend big on an hdmi cable, despite what the shysters at Comet etc. will tell you as they try to flog you one for £80.

As far as wall-mounting goes, you'll need to check whether it has standard VESA mounting holes, and if so, check their dimensions (typically 100mm x 200m or 200mm x 200mm). I've a feeling that this model uses non-VESA specifications, so double-check carefully!

DVD player has no hdmi. Like you say seen some horrendous prices for these leads, for a reasonable price what are the best?.

Not sure i understand you about mounting holes, Different brackets for different tv's i think that's what you mean.

Not sure i understand you about mounting holes, Different brackets for different tv's i think that's what you mean.

Plasma & LCD TVs usually have four screwholes on the back, usually about 5mm diameter and arranged in a square or rectangular formation. You attach the mounting bracket to the TV with these.

Usually they come in a standard configuration, which means that a telly can use a whole range of different mounting brackets. Like I said, I think your TV has a non-standard configuration, so you need to be a bit more careful.

And yes, a tenner should get you a decent enough hdmi cable. You can get them for a fair bit less if you hunt around or keep an eye out for offers.
