This article needs an update as Quidco now do direct BACS payments
No longer using this account for new posts from 2013
  • Try http://www.bikepimp.co.uk/ to get the best deals on bikes, tools, etc, includes wiggle and chainreactioncycles in search. Also possible to get rss feeds so that when an item comes under a certain price you are alerted.

    V useful site!

    Anyone else tried it?

  • I use dealclick.co.uk - I find it about the only one where you don't get lost in the website. Meanwhile, just found a great site if your laptop battery gives in - Laptop Batteries.
I'll post the rest when I think of them.

Looks like a note about BACS has been added but I think a couple of other important details are out of date:

    1. I think Quidco dropped it's minimum payout threshold from £20 to 1p about a year ago.

    2. According to Alexa, Quidco is no longer a minor site. These are the listed sites current rankings:

    Rpoints 22,235
    Quidco 21,319
    Funds4me 192,530
    Greasypalm 21,969
    Bighair 1,301,085

There's actually a pretty good list of reward site rankings here:

I've had a look on quite a few of the sites mentioned. They may be good for buying things like CD's and DVD's cheap, but none of them seem to be very good for the type of items that I sell (beds and mattresses). Many of them seem to have adverts by large companies with large advertising budgets, but high prices.

Others seem to list by well known brand names. This can be misleading because many of the well known brand names are over priced, and low quality.

The only place I have found genuine bargains for beds and mattresses is Ebay, but even on there you have to be very careful. Some are advertising mattresses as visco elastic memory foam, when they clearly aren't. Best thing to do is check out their feedback, then send a message to a few of their previous customers who have purchased similar items to those you are looking for, and ask them what they thought about the sellers products.

As for reward sites, they are more likely to be larger companies with high mark ups.
  • Hello All

I want to take advantage of the strength of the pound and buy stuff directly from America but I can't seem to get over the huge shipping costs that we always have to pay.

I recently saw a subscription for a magazine which over here costs £3.95 a month but would cost the equivalent of just over £1 for subscription in America. However, if I want it posted to England it will costs around £3.00 a month for the subscription - still cheaper than buying it here but I would rather get it for £1.

Felt sure that Martin did an article on shipping costs and online shopping - something about setting up some sort of forwarding address or something - but I can't find it - can anyone help

An old friend sent me an invitation to join the DHS Club who offer rewards / cashback for webshopping via their mall site http://www.clubshop.com/imall/GB/
Has anyone any experience of this organisation? It doesn't impress me.
