I suffer from severe anaemia and at the moment am claiming incapacity benefit am looking at going back to uni but what would i be able to claim am awaiting claim for disability living allowance
already got so many credits just need to finish 1 year but not a student at the moment would be transferring credits from previous study and re registering
please help

Hi.
Sorry to hear that you are ill. I don't know much about claiming benefits when returning to full-time study, but I do know there is another possibility.
I, too, am on Incapacity benefit, and thought about going back to uni (I have 2 years worth of credits under my belt - I never got a chance to finish my degree). I worried about losing my benefits, and whether I'd cope, then thought about the OU.
I've kept my benefits, have my fees paid for the year, and am awaiting £250 grant for study stuff. I started at the beginning of this month, and it's a lot easier than having to trapse to uni every day.
I am also able to transfer my previous credits (well, I will when Leeds Met get there a***s into gear 'n' give me my academic transcript :mad: ) so I don't have to start from scratch again.
I hope I've given you another option to think about.0 -
