Laser Eye Surgery

I had a WEM today from Optimax telling me I have won Laser Eye Treatment worth £985!!!

Trouble is, having worn glasses permanently since 1971 I feel I may be losing some of my persona if I'm not having to wear them.

Talk about catch 22! I have to notify the company by the end of June and have the surgery by the end of July or forgo the prize :(

And to top it all my OH thinks I'm being silly to have any hangups over the surgeery.

What you gain on the swings...........

You've got to look into this, it's one thing to lose your persona but what about your sight? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/2745035.stm

Congrats on the prize I just think people should be more aware that this is an operation and doesn't give everyone 20/20 vision with no problems

Congratulations on the win, its a shame its for only 1 eye, but there are problems in later life if you have the operation, I have heard that if you deelop cataract in later life you cant have it operated on.

I won this too, but as it is only for one eye is it really a prize or are they just assuming people will pay for the other eye?? I'm afraid I wont be taking them up on this offer.

I had laser eye surgery with Optimax in December. My vision is better than 20/20 now. My eye sight wasn't too bad so I was able to opt for the less expensive version £395. This is also the painful version and I regret choosing it because it was extremely painful. Also the healing process takes longer. I have half a dozen friends / colleagues who had the £895 per eye version and had no problems or pain.

Its really a personal decision - I cerainly don't regret it as I hated wearing glasses and wore lenses instead. Good luck with making your decision and well done for winning!
