DFDS mini-cruises - food?

I'm looking to book a DFDS mini-cruise and have the option of paying a bit more to have buffet breakfast included. Has anybody been on one of these? Is it worth paying the extra?
A few people in the party have already pre-booked breakfast and have said they won't even bother with it - would I be able to have their breakfast? If the meals are pre-booked do you get a voucher or token which anybody could use or is it specifically for the person named on the booking?
Many thanks

I have used DFDS once, and as far as I remember you get a voucher for breakfast which is not checked against any name check.
Have you booked the buffet for your evening meal? Last year I was very impressed with the DFDS buffet. I use P & O regularly, and find that if I have had a good meal in the evening, I don't want much for breakfast and just buy a coffee and croissant. But of course everyone is different.0 -
Probably too late now, but I'm just back from a DFDS crossing. Breakfast was included in our price and we got a date-stamped voucher (no name on it, no cabin numbers) to present at the buffet in the morning.
There was a huge choice of food, and we made sure to eat a lot to stock up for the day
No complaints at all and I'd definitely consider pre-paying in future if it wasn't included.
I'm sure there also used to be the option of having breakfast in the cabin which didn't seem to be available this time...? Maybe I'm getting confused with something else
