Hiya
Is it possible to block inappropriate sites being accessed with a netgear DG834G v3 wireless router?
I looked for parental controls but can't find anything. McAfee option is there but they want a fee for this!
Surely there is a free way to at least check sites being visited are ok, i mean all the data is going through the router so why not?
Thanks for any help!

Thanks for the reply loaner!
Can I check this is safe to do? Does it mean all traffic will go through their servers? Is that safe?!
I take it this will allow sites to be blocked.3. Type in OpenDNS addresses in Primary DNS and Secondary DNS fields.
Please write down your current DNS settings before switching to OpenDNS, in case you want to return to your old settings for any reason.
The addresses for OpenDNS are:
- 208.67.222.222
- 208.67.220.220
Also I saw an option under the netgear menu to block sites - in theory if we could find a list of sites to add that would be best... do such lists exist?0 -
Firefox (alternate browser to Internet Explorer, far better in many areas) has Parental Control options. Details here:
