Debit Card Delivery

How long does this generally take with banks? I'm waiting on a card to arrive from HSBC, and I was informed Wednesday before last that I would receive it within a few working days. I received my online banking details on Saturday, but I just feel as if it's taking unusually long to arrive. How long have you all had to wait for bank cards to arrive?

My bank cards just turn up unexpected.

Seriously if it's not turned up within 2 weeks then you need to contact the bank asap.
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p

HSBC were very quick for me: two working days! If it's not there within a week, I'd contact them straight away.

It depends on your address - some post codes are delivered by hand by couriers in undesirable areas.

I've been waiting over a week now for my new debit card from Barclays, I haven't got the card or the PIN yet, but my new Co-op card came in a 2 days, so I just hope its Barclays being slow, and not my postman/royal mail having a nosey through my post.

Yep, some banks are slower than others and some use couriers as JonesMUFCforever says and some use something ridiculous called "disguised mail". This is were your card in it original envelope is sent off to another company to be put in an A5 envelope that has your address printed in an odd font or some parts are occasional written by hand.

You know when your mail drops through your letterbox which are cards and which are not, you know exactly the same after 2 "disguised" bank cards have arrived and so do the thieves I imagine.

I wonder what genius thought up that idea idea, delay the card to the customer by a couple of days and yet anyone can still spot the envelope a mile away.

Interestingly enough, I went in today to my local branch and it transpires that the dozy bint forgot to order my card when I went in over a fortnight ago.

That's what happened with me, Barclays didn't order it and have been waiting 14 days, so I've got to go back to the branch to order another.
