TomTom One Version 3 is now widely available for less than £100 but I see there is now a Version 4 for £30-odd more.
What is the difference and is it worth the extra money, please?

You ask a good question.
I'm interested too and also for the Europe models. I suppose not many people have the v4 yet so it may take a while for clear views to emerge.0 -
Wadewade.
I found your thread whilst doing some research myself...also found this...

Doesn't seem much in it to me (new mount, slimmer design). SD card slot seems to have stopped in Tomtom ONE V2 by the looks of this. I might get a standard UK V3 for £99.
Let us know how you get on0 -
Wonder why they stoped the SD card and bluetooth?
Seems a backward step to me and put me off buying a TomTom.
Have a look at the Navigo for £50 at Ebuyer then google for "navigo TomTom"0 -
Thanks, everyone. In the end I went for the Navigo. At £49 with free 5 day delivery it is half the price of the TomTom One version 3.
I've looked at some of the reviews and the links to the Navigo help site. It all looks tempting but some people seem to have found the download procedure a bit hairy. I might try the Navigo software first!0 -
If you download the tomtom software to a seperate sd card there will be no problems whatsoever, so I'm led to believe

That's good to know, thanks for the advice.0

You will not be disapointed but please buy a new 2Gig card and keep the original as is in a safe place.
Something like this:
Play.com 2GB SD Card Twin PackI might try the Navigo software first!
It's pants, just get TomTom on it.
Should take you all of 10 mins at the most.0 -
This is a good resource for using "other" software on the Navigo devices:

Gosh, Red Cat, those Wiki pages look a bit hairy to me. I'm not a technical person and was only interested in simple ways to get a better program. I think I might steer clear of the improvements on Wiki - I get worried when they have warnings printed in red! Other people will doubtless be grateful though.
Thanks for your concern, much appreciated.0
