 GRRRRRR!
Ah I feel better now thats out of my system.
Why when you close a credit card account do they still take the final months direct debit in my case the minimum payment they could take was £5 even though I'd settled the account a good 3 weeks before this and therefore my balance was zero?????
Its a real pain because if I want my £5 back they can't put it back into my bank account (becasue my credit card account is closed - even though it didn't stop them taking the money), instead they send you a cheque and you have to cash it at your bank (from where they took it from in the first place).
With my cynical hat on I would think its to hold onto my money, keep the account open and make even more from me by making me ring up their 0870 no to get the money back.
Sorry rant over now!!!!
Has anyone else been infuriated by this???

Aqua did it to me. For a fiver, i'd say it really isn't worth the effort, but hey...
You could always use SayNoTo0870 to find a number which doesn't cost the earth to call, and get your money back that way...0 -
Thanks,
I did the 0870, cheque is in the post - it is my money after all.
Its just a real pain, not because of the amount, its just it feels like a leaving tax and they've had enough from me over the years!!! Who knows where thoughts come from - they just appear!:beer:0 -
You could have turned off the Direct Debit when closing the account, leaving a zero balance.0
