Little arrows !

Returning from a holiday yesterday, Norton informed me they wanted to do a full scan (which found nothing), them Mozilla Firefox had upgrades, then Windows also wanted to do something. I thought I'd never get started. What I've noticed now is that the icons on the desktop have all got little arrows in the bottom left corner pointing up. Does anyone know what that's all about?

Aren't these just the "normal" Windows arrows that symbolise that the item is a shortcut?
I guess you can turn them on and off somewhere, but I've no idea where...0 -

If your using XP download TweakUI from Microsoft PowerToys at www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx
If Vista download TweakVI from www.totalidea.com
In both there is an option to remove arrow from desktop shortcut
There are lots of other Tweaks in both programs0
