friend recently got made redundant and now wants to transfer his credit card to a 0% transfer card, trouble is when he got the paper work they asking abt his employment , he has never been out of a job and doesnt plan to for ever but wants to take a few months off to sort his options out .. so he was wondering should he put his old details on the application form, he has never defaulted on his cc and only has a balance of £450 he just wondering how he should go abt it.. i couldnt help him but i said i know a site who can lol.. so down to you lot how does he apply for a card if he not employed at the moment... oh he does have the money to pay it off but doesnt want to pay off in one lump sum if he can get away with transfering it ..
Thanks

If the form asks for employment details then you should put down valid employment details. While your friend may be entirely confident in his ability to get another job it does not change the fact that he currently does not have one. Sorry, its probably not the answer you were looking for and I know that if things go according to plan it would be unlikely that it would be noticed but it doesn't change the fact that lying to obtain a pecuniary advantage is fraud.0

Planning to have a few months off does not seem a very good idea at first sight unless he can affortd it and if he can afford it he can postpone getting a credit card until he does have a job again................................I have put my clock back....... Kcolc ym0

thanks for the replies.. yes he can afford to take a few months off as he has a good redundancy pay off.. he just wanted to change cards to take advantage of the o% offers that fly around at the moment, he wants to take time off to mabey have a change of direction as to what he wants to do with the rest of his life.. The fraud thing im sure he is aware off think to be truthful just testing the water to see if he could get away without paying his balance in full as most of us do ..Those we love don't go away,They walk beside us every day,Unseen, unheard, but always near,

My response to the OP is, if he only owes £450, to go with the previous employment details. What your friend MUST NOT do is use this 0% card to make further purchases whilst not working.
If I was in this situation I wouldn't be scared by PC Galstonian.
Credit card companies rip off many people every day. If you want to throw the word fraud around, send a letter to the head of one of the big card companies PC Galstonian.
Go for it - just make sure your friend doesn't increase their debt while not in employment.0 -
If he has only a £450 balance and a good redundancy payout, why does he not settle the £450 to start with?0

I assumed that the current card charges interest, and that the friend wants to move it to one that doesn't.
£450 isn't that big a deal - I'd make the card companies lend me the money at 0% if I could, even if I had the money.
It isn't really for us to question the reasoning of the OPs friend - just to answer the original question, which is what I did above.0
