Be polite, check your spelling, punctuation & grammar, keep it factual and concise, do not go into long rambling tirades quoting Sale of Goods Act etc
Do not hand write [unless you have excellent handwriting] type / print it on decent paper
Give a guide as to what you expect them to do about it, refund? replace?Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
I find it helpful to quote their own terms & conditions to demonstrate where they have failed.
...Linda xxIt's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.0 -
well i want to complain about a phone i was given, teh nokia 6080 for a birthday present. The problem with the phone is everytime you have the phone to speak to someone the buttons get pressed, automatically. I am a bit nervous as i have never written a complaint letter.
thanks0 -
do you know where it was bought, is it possible for you to take it back to the shop0

Your contract is with the retailer you bought the product from. Have a word with the person who gave it to you as they are the one covered in law not you. Have they a receipt? It would be great if they have paid by credit card as under section 75 of the consumer act the credit card company are equally liable if the shop doesn't want to know. However most companies ( apart from the fruit one ) are helpful. You need to be strong, polite and do not lose your temper at the shop stage, it's not their fault and getting their back up doesn't help. Open the conversation with "I hoping that you can help me". If no luck write to their head office as you will then have something in writing. Involve your local Trading Standards as this will give you more clout and show that you are serious, they are also very helpful. But if a genuine fault I am sure the shop will help as they are used to phone complaints. You could scare the pants off them by saying you need the phone for calls from the Mystery Shopping company you work for!!! Anyway good luck and don't worry just be natural.0
