Would you say £6 an hour is a fair price to ask, I wouldn't like to overcharge anyone?
Make sure too that you don't get talked into doing an hour a day when you'd rather do your 5 hours over 2 days. It's OK doing a short job when it's five minutes away, but you're not charging for your travel time.
A receipt book - small will do - is a good idea to help you record what you've been paid and again it looks terrifically efficient! Don't work more than a week in hand!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Yes, you must do a bit of research to see what the competition charges, but £6 should be a minimum.
Defintely write everything down, get the client to read and sign it before you start work so there's no confusion about exactly what your duties are.
Also, why not offer her a wee discount (maybe 10%) off her first month's cleaning if she introduces another regular customer? If you adopted this policy with all your customers you'd soon have plenty and be able to take on some staff!!!0 -
A ''wee discount''
that should incur a higher charge! ;Dsomething missing0 -

:-[Sorry for the delay everyone!
I went to the house and they told me they wanted 2 hours a day, which was going to be a bit awkward as it was a 8 mile round trip, anyway I agreed to do it, as I felt sorry for them, but told them I couldn't do weekends, in the end they decided to leave it as they wanted someone every day, TBH I was relieved as it would have been a pain!!February Grocery Challenge £250.00
Spend so far £230!! (Ohhh my days HELP) still got almost 2 weeks left!!0 -

If they'd got any sense they'd have snapped you up and looked for someone else to jobshare with you. But as you didn't really want the job I guess it's the best result. Let's hope you find some more reasonable customers very soon.
All the best!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
