Then you will be waiting for the over credit limit charge from your credit card company or your bank if using debit card. Genius.

Yeh of course you could, I mean they put that funny reflective number thing on both ends of your car for no reason.

Have to be fair to the credit card company. They didn't mis-inform OP. They only asked him to contact Tesco. Don't blame credit card company for everything.

Pointlesss response ! The cardholder would not have been directed to contact Tesco if the c/s agent had been doing his/her correctly job when advised about a pending payment.

I'm getting married in New Zealand next year and need to travel out a little later than my fiancee. I want to organise our own itinerary, flights london to auckland, then onto maybe two other destinations for honeymoon before returning to london. Does anyone know the best way of doing this, as I suspect if I go with Travelbag who create itineraries, I'll pay through the nose (which for me is a long way). Anyone got any advice on how to do this cheaply? Thanks

    Seriously pointless response!!!
the c/s agent only can see a pending transaction on OP's account, he/she will not know what it is until it gets through. Don't you think the best way to contact the retailer?? The c/s agent was doing a perfectly right job! I didn't see any problem. Certainly not mis-inform OP as you said!

NO ! The c/s agent can see exactly what's happening with the pending payments. They are marked differently.

Now you're clearly wasting my time and I haven't got time for your childish pedantic behaviour. !!

Look guy's, stop complaining, the Credit Card Company has done the right thing here, processed a transaction as requested by the merchant, why are we arguing over a stupid quid? Any remote, card holder not present or automated EPOS transaction ergo a "Petrol Pump" SHOULD charge a tester transaction to the Visa or whatever and validate it first, Pay-Pal do it, Maplin do it, Next do it and so on and so on, if you didn't check your pending transactions or balance, you would never have known it had been their in the first place, nice to know that Credit Card companies and Merchants are taking positive steps towards stamping out fraud.
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.
