I have been getting quite a few freebies through this site and wondered if anyone else does something different with theirs rather than use them for themselves.
My daughter bought a house with her boyfriend 2 years ago and on their wages they struggle to meet the mortgage payments let alone everything else. She always asks me to give her money for birthdays and Christmas so she can spend it on the bills. I give her as much as I can but feel sorry that she doesn't have a present to open. So I save up all the freebies (those that won't expire) and all the 'Buy One Get One Free' deals I've had over the year and wrap them up for her. Shampoo, tea, coffee and even toothpaste - it all helps and I really enjoy building up the collection.
It's become a bit of a tradition now and I think she's be disappointed if I didn't do it.
Her favourite last Christmas was an attack alarm for her handbag - it just goes to show presents don't always have to be expensive to be appreciated.0 -

I have recently received;
Bounce sample - no tumble dryer but it looks like you can pop them in your drawers to keep them smelling fresh. No not those draws!!!!
Jelly beans (at last!)
Kosmea Australian skin care samples.
Also had a 'billy bargain' at Toys R Us last week. It was my son's 1st birthday and went in to get some inspiration for a present and found a 'Bruin' sit-on aeroplane that plays tunes/lights flash etc. It was reduced to half price and I also used some out of date money off vouchers which the till accepted when they were scanned so ended up getting a toy which usual retail price is £39.99 for a tenner! Spent my savings on party food and goodies.There's no such thing as a free lunch but there seems to be no shortage of free tea....0 -
