Sending packages from Bahrain

I hope someone can help me.
I'm in Bahrain at the moment, and I'm looking at sending some cigarettes home. Is there anything to worry about? Will I have to pay tax on them or anything.

unless you know something i don't, this would not be a good idea as you are not allowed to send cigarettes via the post,

    I wouldn't advise it Rick.

If it were allowed, everyone (who smokes that is!), would get cheap ciggies sent from their mates whom are abroad.

Not worth getting caught my friend.

  • send them from the post office in manama, do not send them from any ships alongside in bahrain as they may be stopped in the bfpo in london. the post office is just over the road from the kfc by gold city in the souq. and its quite cheap to send from there failing that in the px in juffair would be a good place aswell. hope this helps. and unlucky about being there at this time of year. not very nice.

Why would you give advice to something that if caught and yes it's possible could happen would be classed as smuggling
  • I always thought that you were legally allowed to send 40 cigs in the post a day. If your out there for a few months then it can soon add up, just a bit of a ball ache going to the post office everyday!!!!!!!!!

i dont see how it is smugling? you have paid the local tax in the country. and it is getting sent over as a gift to yourself, not for profit. there are countless websites out there offering to send ciggerettes from other countries. they are professinal companies with pages of feedback.

Ask Customs and excise, I bet they beg to differ
