Put the money in a pot and buy a new computer every few years.

I'm with Dave t. I've never insured my computer. It doesn't break down, and when it does I'll get a new one. The evolve so fast you'll want the latest model anyway. Get a book on how to fix the simple stuff and throw it away if you can't fix it (or freecycle it).

I think warranties and appliance insurance are a con. With laptops coming down in price, that £120 is a big chunk from new one. My PC went wonky and I took it to a local independent PC Doctor and was sorted for £40.00.
