Credit Card for Travellers

in Credit cards
Hi, hope someone can help. I am going travelling in a couple of months time and need an emergency credit card. I don't plan on using the car for any reason other than an emergency, and will cut it up once I get home.
I have never had a credit card before though, could anyone advise which would best suit me. Thanks.

Nationwide is often recommended for use overseas because it doesn't make a foreign current surcharge (typically 2-3%). However, as you have no intention of using it I guess any CC would do.
Do remember that if you do need to use it you must make arrangments for the monthly payment to be made.
As you haven't had a card before you may find it difficult to get one as you have no history of correct repayments so I would suggest you try your bank first and as it can take a little time do it now.0 -
