I phoned this number and took up 2 magazines and went for the 3 for £1 options.
To date i have had no magazines let alone any contact from them, however i have just had 2 DD'S of £1 each taken, needless to say i am cancelling them NOW.
Has anyone else had similar problems, after all its now 6 weeks. When subscribing through greatmagazines you get a letter and usually the first mag quicker.

I've had the same experience. Took two magazines, received nothing. Direct debits started last week! Had no email or letter, no contact since telephone call from them to dupe me into accepting this offer. I only checked in here as I was considering buying the (Mojo) magazine this month, but remembered I'd signed up - then that I hadn't got anything from them!

Now, who I call to complain?

OK: after some investigation (greatmagazines.co.uk is the front for Bauer, who bought the Emap magazines division last year) I emailed greatmagazines@subscription.co.uk with the direct debit ref no (this is also the subscription reference). So far only got an auto response, but will keep trying ;)

I have not had a problem with greatmagazines before but this offer they come up with is different from the usual ones.
Getting any response to your email may be pot luck given the nature of your complaint. Many companies seem reluctant to correspond about complaints.
I have possiby lost only £2 but its the principal of it.
Get an offer on MSE,dont fulfil the orders, just bank all the quids they make, neat.
I have cancelled DD'S and wont fall for it again.
• I have had £4 taken from my bank account but am still to receive something - anything - 8 weeks later. Have spoken to various different people at Bauer who have no record of the 3 magazines I took up through the offer, although the money has been taken & they finally confirmed that they used a "SML" telemarketing company to run this offer.
The suggestion is that I write to Bauer and make a complaint, which is what I am going to do, but not sure it will get me anywhere. Direct debit now cancelled & a future boycott of thier magazines - not a great marketing success on thier part.
• i have just order FHM on subscription for 16.99 evaery 6 months. it does however say that i will be recieving assassins creed and haze for PS3 subject to minimum 12m subscription. taking into account that these games still pull 25 quid each new if i was to sell these games i could make a tidy profit!!

I requested (and received) a free copy of Mojo magazine about a month ago. The lady who called me was very courteous although she did try to persuade me several times to take up one of the other available offers. I resisted.

Out of the blue this morning I have received an "urgent renewal notice" demanding payment to renew my subscription. Which subscription? I have no idea.

Have marked the invoice as " No subscription requested - please cancel invoice immediately" and will be sending it back to them in the pre-paid envelope they have thoughtfully supplied.
Blessed are the cracked, for it is they who let in the light...:A
• Not happy - the company dealing with this used my card details to set up a direct debit for £13 Grrr. I was asked for my card details back in June to accept the 3 further issues for a pound. My husband came across the direct debit on the account so we applied for a refund via the DD guarantee scheme. I also rang up Bauer (who've taken over EMAP) to complain and they said it was the fault of the promotions company ... anyway, anyone else in the same boat should call their offices and object. Very naughty as I didn't agree to a direct debit and nothing arrived in the mail to advise DD had been set up. They're reporting it (supposedly) but its put me right off applying for anything like this in the future. I got a local number instead of the 0845 number they quote on their website 01858 438824. Hope this helps!
