I once took up the 3 Maxim issues for £1, after the 3rd issue arrived I cancelled the DD but I kept on receiving free ones for approx 2 years!!
This also happened when I signed up to Auto Express.......& that is a weekly mag!
I guess someone must have noticed cause they both stopped arriving in the same month.Where there's a will.............I want to be in it!

Never EVER pay the extra £1 by credit card as this will set up a reoccurring instruction on your card. To cancel, you then have to contact the merchant. If this merchant is as 'difficult' as some have found then they will debit your card and it will be hassle to get your money back. You have to contact the merchant in the first instance and argue the toss with them to get your refund for credit card transactions, not the card issuer. The card issuer will only get involved if you have exhausted all efforts with the merchant. There’s no use in ‘loosing’ your credit card either to shake off the reoccurring instruction, as most issuers will (thoughtfully) transfer the instruction to your new card.
It's far better to set up a Direct Debit. If money is taken out of your account then you just phone your bank and get a refund under the Direct Debit Guarantee. It's a piece of cake to get your money back for an incorrectly applied Direct Debit straight from your bank - never bother chasing the beneficiary for incorrectly claimed Direct Debits.
Personally, I would never set up a reoccurring transaction on a credit or debit card for magazine subscriptions or anything else. All the credit card cash-backs in the world wouldn’t convince me it’s a sensible thing to do.SkinHeadSaver - Similar to Martin Lewis (but without the shouting and a bit more common sense)

Hi, i think this offer is great and did sign up for the extra 3/4 months copy of other magazines. But I will cancel the subscription after the 3rd issue then order it again via the £1, therefore i will have the equivalent of a year's subscription for only £3
To save any debit hassle, do direct debit as this can be cancelled through your bank. :A0 -
Has anyone gor their free copy yet, i done this via this site 4 weeks ago, got the call back within 2 days, ordered 2 different magazines on the 3 for £1, but have not had any through yet..0

MSEWendy says in the header to this thread that it takes about 4 - 8 weeks to set up the arrangement depending on the magazine. I have done a few trials using the besthighstreet link (mentioned earlier in the thread) and the start date has been mentioned in the email confirming the subscription.0 -
Just a quick question please - Savethekipper said he/she had ordered one mag using a landline and one mag using a mobile. Does anyone know if he/she actually received the magazines - because on the website it said only one mag per household. I wanted to order a mag, and my husband wanted a different one. Would we both be able to claim one if we gave different phone numbers but same address?0

Someone earlier in the thread said that when they ordered one, they were offered others so you should both be OK. Otherwise I'm sure there is no limit on the 3 for £1 and similar offers through www.besthighstreet.com (magazines page) also mentioned earlier in this thread.0
