How long to complete BT?

Hi all,

Last Sat (6th Nov) I transferred my Egg Balance over to my new HSBC Card.

This morning my HSBC card is showing the amount I transferred. However Egg is still showing the minus figure?

How long this nromally take? I'm surprised...

(I did a BT from First Direct to Egg, so I am assuming they have the same system and time scales)

It should take two working days normally between the date of despatch and the date of arrival. So if sent from HSBC on Monday [sat is not a working day] the payment should arrive at Egg on Wednesday and be viewable by today. It's only one day late so far. I'd give it one more day at least...

They normally say 6-8 working days so I'd be prepared to wait a little longer if I were you. The payments are sent by BACS to the nominated bank so a standard bank BACS transfer will take at least 2-3 days, and since they need to match the transfer to your credit card (it gets sent to one big account with a reference of your CC number then gets fished out possibly manually) I would add a few days to that.

Whatever happens though don't worry if it's not there for a few more days yet.

I did a Balance Transfer from Capital One to HSBC on Friday. Cash left HSBC Friday, but Capital One still don't show it - the one from Egg done on the same day showed a couple of days ago. Sometimes I wonder if they receive the cash but don't apply it to the account straight away, thus charging us more interest!!

ive just done a blalnce transfer from egg-its showing on my other card but not on egg yet-they did say allow 5 working days though
