Killing off weed trees

Please help, my neighbour has a garden full of weed trees of all sizes and ages! She tries to cut them down every so often but then leaves the stumps.

What is the best way of killing them off and clearing her garden?

There are lots of cats in her garden and in the area so we need to avoid poisoning them.

Any help would be very appreciated as she is not a computer person i have agreed to help find a solution.

Thanks guys

  • my son (trained in horticulture) came up with this:

Drill several holes in stumps and inject concentrated liquid fertilizer. Depending on hole size/injection technique you may need to plug holes with plasticine. That should do it without harming the cats.

Might be a case of Chinese whispers!!!??? Arty possibly means SBK, which is a brushwood killer. You drill holes and put it in, mixed with oil if you like, then seal the holes with something like plasticine to keep it in there.

SBK Bushkiller = form of weedkiller that is good for killing tree stumps, killing plants with deep roots, brambles.

Its like Dave says, its a brushwood killer "You drill holes and put it in, mixed with oil if you like, then seal the holes with something like plasticine to keep it in there."
What he missed out was "you then insert the fuse and run the firing wire back to a safe place" Keep all small children and pets locked up of course. Hope that helps. :)
