Credit card transfers

Hey all,
My turn to ask a little advice now! I used to be really good with money (had a credit card that was rarely used and cleared as soon as it was, was paying more than the minimum to clear a loan etc) until I became a mature student and it all went to pot! My job at the time screwing me around, messing up my wages and subsequently sending my half decent money habits down the pan, was one of the main reasons for me going to uni. But it also meant I went with alot of debt before even starting my degree!
Anyway, I finished last month and am working two part time jobs to get some cash together and start clearing some of my debt and get savings together. Over the course of my degree, I've ran up nearly 7500 on my credit card (usually paying for new laptop after mine died and car repairs so I could caryy out practice placements!), but because of the high interest, I'm keen to reduce it any way I can.
Is it worth me transferring some or all of the balance to an interest free deal on another card? It makes sense to me as naturally I won't be paying interest. Any idea who's got the best/longest 0% balance transfer deals who are likely to take on students? As one of my part time jobs is only sessional work, it's not a guaranteed income, so I can only count the wages from one job as my income, which will probably affect it?!
