Moving home with Sky+, any experiences

Hi,
I am in the process of moving home and called Sky to organise, all sorted. There were multiple cables coming from the dish so I assumed they had Sky+ already, but it now turns out it is for a multiroom install, so there is actually only 1 connection in the main room, meaning Sky+ will not work.
I told Sky that I should just be able to take my box with me but it now appears I need to pay the £50 for the install, even though it's just another line of cable :-(
Has anyone any experiences of moving home with Sky+? Can I expect to be able to negotiate the £50 fee? I'm in contract since I upgraded to Sky+ last year so unfortunately cannot cancel and re-join.
Thanks
James.

You are probably somewhat limited if you are under contract, is this a 1yr contract in return for a discounted box?. I moved in January and was able to negotiate the fee away by cancelling, I had been with sky for about 3 yrs and therefore was not tied in. If you have leverage, ie you can leave then they will move you for free.Hope for the best.....Plan for the worst!

You could always install it yourself, all you will need is a length of Satellite grade coax and a couple of F connectors. As you say its already got a quad LNB.That gum you like is coming back in style.0

Tell Sky that you will do without the Sky+ option till your contract runs out and that then you will cancel totally as you think that you should not have to pay at all. They may change their mind and do the install for free.Something Really Interesting0

The new house has no dish or cabling so I will see what they say and post back here!Man who stands on toilet is high on pot. - Old chinese proverb.0 -
They wanted to charge me £50 so I said to cancel the whole lot.
They waived the fee.
Being installed on 11th July 2008.
I told them I would happily take the dish, cabling etc from my old address and install it myself.... They seemed a bit miffed at that.
So new Dish and cabling for me. Saves drilling through 2 ft stone walls!Man who stands on toilet is high on pot. - Old chinese proverb.0
