Hiya i recently read somewhere but i forget where now that when you leave a supplier if they have put the prices up in the last 61 days you can request they do your final bill at the previous rates.

Does this ring any bells with anyone i may have got a few details wrong but just the general idea does anyone know anything about it?

Thanks
sara

All suppliers will state in their terms & conditions how you can cancel if they increase the price (sometimes it may have to be above a certain rate e.g. the RPI)

Typically it will say that you need to advise the company within 14 days of receiving notification of the price rise and that switching to an alternative supplier takes place within 28 days thereafter.

Check the terms & conditions of your own supplier for exact details.

If you comply with the relevent terms, you should be billed at the existing agreed rate rather than the proposed increased rate.

EDF are not alone - I had the same problem with EON. On dispute, they sent a revised invoice exactly as the first with a £2.50 ex-gratia credit
    More nonsense followed.
I finally got it resolved by writing direct their MD
... well I say finally, but 7 days after paying the revised amount correctly calculated I got a warning of legal action demanding immediate payment of the original incorrectly billed amount.
I'm wondering if they are stupid enough to follow through with their threat of court action - I can't wait to explain this to the judge! :D
