Edinburgh Used Cars
Options
Hi car buffs & generals in the know!
We're going looking for cars in and around Edinburgh end of this week.
Can anyone recommend used car dealers in and around Edinburgh?
The irony of it, is that we don't have a car to go look for cars  so will need to bus & walk it around.
Would be good to know the ones to go for and the ones to avoid if poss.
Thanks muchly

try glasgow, the price differance is worth the journey, use the edinburgh dealers to find the car that suits you then find it on the other coast which could save you a few hundred quid especially if nearly new or new....work permit granted!0 -
You're not going for the car you had your eye on on the other thread then?Genie

Are you passing on the Almera then? Re your thread 'oi, used car salesmen', think you may need to try a more subtle approach.
Why don't you just google autotrader? Put in your price range and see what comes up?
Not sure you know what you want. You need to sort out your priorities etc and then come back and ask for advice, its too vague otherwise to enable anyone to help and advise you.Genie

Two areas, Sighthill Industrial Estate and Seafield Road.0

No idea of dealers in your area, but ANY good garage would happily bring the car - or acars - you want to look at, to you.
Done this loads of times for my customers.
It does actually put you in a strong position, as it shows interest in buying & pressure on the dealer to make that sale!!
Do make the actual purchase at their premisies, though, to make sure they're genuine!!

Hi Jeannieblue, yes, the Oi Used Car Salemen was used as an eye catching heading. The Almera in my other thread had already gone by the time I had gotten back to the dealer, oh well, another day....
The 'why don't you google autotrader" - Yes, we have spent ages viewing it, I was really just looking for comments from the good people on this site. Own experience is very valuable.
Thanks all who have replied with good info.0 -

a few years ago when i was buying my focus,i checked my local dealers price, then shopped around,i found the ford dealer at sighthill ind est was £1000 more expensive than the one i bought from nearer glasgow.
also compared other cars in thier showroom and fourcourt and all were much higher than in the west.
its worth travelling to save that kind of money surely....work permit granted!0
