More Somerfield rip offs

Options
I haven't checked the whole forum so this may already be known. Somerfield 'simply chicken' chicken breasts are £13.43 per kg compare this with Tesco free range chicken breast @ £12.49 per kg!!!

The Somerfield chicken isn't even British.

One shop more expensive than the other shocker!

Why don't you go and list every instance of any 2 independant shops being more expensive than the other, why stop at the chicken?!

How is it a rip off?
They can charge a £100 per kilo and it is still not a rip off.
It just means people wont buy it.

Does the op expect them to give it away?

Tesco have lower overheads than Somerfield.

    RIP-OFF!

Why do so many threads have these words in the title?

My Concise Oxford English dictionary gives this definition of 'rip-off':

    1. A fraud or swindle
    2. A financial exploitation

I can't see how Somerfield charging more that Tesco for what (based on the OP's post says) is an inferior product can be described as a rip-off. Surely it's just inappropriate pricing policy in comparison to their competitors (although Somerfiled have a totally different customer base as they are usually located in towns, so they are not really competing with Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda etc).

If the price and description are clearly marked, how can it be a rip-off?
Are Somerfield tricking you or coercing you into buying the chicken?

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, but don't try to tell us that it's a rip-off.

Does the fact that the chicken is not British mean we can't say rip-off Britain?
    What a disappointment

And just to balance this up, my local shop supplies free range eggs cheaper than Tesco so that will be a "Tesco Rip Off " then

Has anyone else heard of shops charging different prices for things or is this a new phenomenon?

Can this chicken be used as bait to catch some fish?
